Resilient Alternative Energy Solutions

One of the core resilience projects of REZDM is the development and deployment of an affordable alternative energy solution to ensure that the inhabitants of small and remote communities like the villages of Soufriere, Galion and Scotts Head will have access to electrical power during and immediately after a hurricane like Maria. Such a solution will improve greatly the quality of life and the security of all inhabitants until the public power grids can be fully restored, even if this grid energization process takes several months.

The research and development being done by REZDM for the design of this resilient and sustainable energy solution is progressing rapidly. This research is based on numerous years of experience in solar and wind energy that takes into account the reality of the living conditions in Dominica, including the size of households, type of existing buildings, etc.

We hope to be able to start deployment shortly.
